 Meizu has finally launched its dual-screen Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus smartphones. Perhaps the highlight of the phones is a Super AMOLED display on the back, although not an e-ink screen previously thought. Meizu Pro 7 Plus will come in black, matte black, silver, and gold colour options. Meizu Pro 7, on the other hand, will come in black, gold and red.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a phone with a seconday screen. LG has been selling its smartphones under the V-series with a dual-display. Even the HTC U Ultra offers a secondary display that sits at the top of the front and is completely independent of the primary screen.

As for the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus, the design is different. Meizu has incorporated a secondary screen on the back of the phones. The rear display is a 1.9-inch AMOLED screen that will mirror notifications, but you can use it for media controls, show the time, weather info, or take selfies with the back camera. You can even set live wallpapers complete with customisable options. While it may look innovative, it’s hard to tell how useful the secondary screen will be in general usage.

The rest of the specifications on these two phones are top-notch. Meizu Pro 7 features a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED panel, while the Pro 7 Plus is coming at 5.7-inches with QHD resolution, also using AMOLED technologies. Under the hood, the Pro 7 Plus uses the latest MediaTek Helio X30 processor, 6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, and a 3500mAh battery. Meizu Pro 7 is powered by an old MediaTek Helio P25 processor, 4GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, and a 3000mAh battery. Both smartphone support the company’s proprietary mCharge fast charging technology.

Both smartphones feature the latest version of Flyme OS, based on Android 7.0 Nougat. These devices feature Sony’s dual 12-megapixel shooters with f 2.0 aperture, and a 16-megapixel camera on the front. Moreover, Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus also have a dedicated audio processing chip that should provide great sound.

Both Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus will go on sale in China on August 5. While the former device will cost $430 ( or approx Rs 27,569), the latter device will set you back by $530 ( or approx Rs 33,981). Meizu is currently selling its devices in India,

Google Feed.

As Google announced an overhaul of its search app on mobile phones to include a personalised feed of links about hobbies, travel, sports and other topics, a move that puts the search company into more direct competition with social networks such as Facebook.

Google, the world's largest search engine and a unit of Alphabet Inc, said the changes would begin rolling out in the United States on Wednesday and other countries in the coming weeks.

The new offering is called “Google Feed,” a name that may conjure comparisons to Facebook's “News Feed,” a feature on Facebook used to browse updates from friends, family and other sources.

Google said, however, that it was not trying to duplicate Facebook Inc, the world's largest social network. Instead, the company said it wanted to create another place to see a stream of relevant search results.

“This feed is really about your interests ... It's not really about what your friends are interested in,” Ben Gomes, a Google vice president for engineering, said in a briefing with reporters.

Typical updates might include a link to a website with tips about an upcoming vacation spot, or a link to a page about cycling or another hobby, the company said.

There were no immediate plans to include advertising in Google Feed, Gomes said.

Google Feed will suggest links based on a user's Google search history as well as data from other Google services, such as YouTube, Gmail and Google Calendar, the company said.

In addition to putting Google Feed on mobile apps, the company is looking at attaching it to web browsers in some form, Shashi Thakur, a second Google vice president for engineering, said during the briefing.

Mixing

You have to be careful when mixing goldfish. The best tank mates for the Common are other single-tailed varieties like the Comet and Shubunkin goldfish. Single-tails are much faster than Fancy or twin-tailed goldfish.

Many new aquarists tend to mix Common goldfish with twin-tails and the result is bullying, stress and sickness for the twin-tails like Black Moor, Oranda, Fantail or Bubble Eye goldfish.

CONCACAF GOLD CUP.

A Kemar Lawrence free kick two minutes from time gave Jamaica a surprise 1-0 win over Mexico on Sunday and took the Caribbean side into their second consecutive Gold Cup final.

Jamaica were barely seen as an attacking threat throughout the match at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena before Lawrence stepped up to curl a 25-yarder over the Mexican wall and into the top left-hand corner.

While Mexico had more of the ball they lacked the guile and creativity to get past a packed Jamaican rearguard and just as the game looked sure to go to penalties, Lawrence produced a moment of magic.

"We knew we had to be organised and patient defensively and we did that," said Blake.

"We, as a group, believe in each other and we've got to stay hungry and keep fighting and hopefully win the whole thing."

sony India announced premium flagship line-up of Bravia OLED A1 television series today. With the launch of these premium televisions, Sony is aiming at redefining the future of home entertainment, as the company claims. The A1 series of televisions comes paired with 4K clarity with brightness, colour and detail of High Dynamic Range (HDR) and is coupled with unique image processor and display device technologies to deliver optimal brightness levels, and stunning visual experience.

Sony has launched two variants of the A1 OLED series -- KD-65A1, which is a 65-inch television set, while the KD-55A1 is 55-inch version. The KD-65A1 is available at Rs 4,64,900, while the 55-inch version is priced at Rs 3,64,900. The televisions will be available for pre-booking starting August 1. 

The A1 series boasts of a unique sound technology with Acoustic Woofers, and is the world's first large screen TV producing powerful sound from the screen itself. The televisions further come with the concept of One Slate concept. The small niltava (Niltava macgrigoriae) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae, native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
